Alex Williamson began operations in 1947 with an Imperial Oil gas station located in downtown Uxbridge. During the 1950's, the business expanded with the acquisition of a Chevrolet Oldsmobile franchise, the opening of a body shop and the creation of a leasing division.

As a result of this growth, the business required larger premises and through the 1960's and 1970's, a number of locations in the Uxbridge business district were utilized.

In 1972, a Buick Pontiac franchise was acquired and facilities again became an issue resulting in the relocation to Highway 47. The Chevrolet Oldsmobile franchise and body shop moved to its present site in 1977, with Buick Pontiac and the Leasing Company following in 1980. The addition of Cadillac in 1983 allowed the company to offer the full line of General Motors cars and light trucks.

Alex remained active in the operation of the business until the mid 1990's, however, in 1982 his sons Sandy and Peter were appointed the Dealers of the Chevrolet Oldsmobile and Buick Pontiac franchises respectively.

In the fall of 2005 Williamson Uxbridge began an extensive renovation and expansion of the north building which housed the Chevrolet Cadillac franchise.  Upon completion of the building expansion, the two dealerships were merged and began operating as one franchise with two showrooms on the 259 Toronto Street South property.  New and used vehicles are now available from the Buick Pontiac Cadillac GMC showroom situated in the main building and a Chevrolet showroom in an adjacent building, only a short walk across the lot.

The new state of the art facility incorporates a consolidated service operation allowing the company to provide more flexible and responsive service.  The facility includes a service drive-thru for customers arriving for service, which provides a sheltered area for you and your adviser to review the vehicle away from the elements, quick lube bays for those on the run, an extensive parts department and a collision and detail centre.

The company continues to be a family owned business with approximately 100 employees.
